SCENE 01 / WIRELESS AUDIO SYSTEMS

Wireless Audio Systems in Saudi Arabia

Professional wireless microphones and RF coordination for productions throughout Saudi Arabia.

Scroll

Here is how this works in practice. Wireless audio systems give cable-free transmission of microphone signals, intercom feeds, and tracking audio across production sets. We set up frequencies compliant with CITC rules across Saudi locations, managing RF challenges in extreme desert heat and making sure all wireless gear meets local import and licensing needs. Digital wireless technology delivers reliable, high-quality audio transmission that gives talent freedom of movement and sound departments flexibility in complex shooting environments.

Here is the short of it. We source wireless audio systems with the channel capacity and frequency planning your production demands across Saudi Arabia. Our team handles range scanning compliant with CITC Saudi frequency rules, system setup, and backup gear to make sure interference-free wireless audio performance across your shoot, no matter location complexity.

CST-permitted RF coordination across Lectrosonics, Wisycom, Sennheiser Digital 6000

Wireless audio in Saudi Arabia runs under the CST (Communications, Space and Technology Commission) frequency regime.

Unlicensed bands cover the lighter use. The 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz bands serve Sidus Link, CRMX wireless DMX, and consumer Wi-Fi-spec systems. But production wireless mics, IFB, and IEM systems are different. Those run on TV-white-space (470-694 MHz) and dedicated production bands. They need CST permits filed 7-14 days ahead of shoot.

Here is how this works in practice. Our RF coordinators carry permanent permit relationships with CST. We hold backup frequency lists for the major zones. These have AlUla (RCU adjacent airspace), NEOM (special economic zone — separate range allocation), and the Riyadh and Jeddah urban core.

Gear standards are top-tier. Lectrosonics SRc, DSR4, and Venue 2 receivers pair with SMV, SMQV, and SSM body packs. Wisycom MTP41S and MCR42S serve the deep European-spec roster — Polly Morgan's department on Desert Warrior ran heavy Wisycom.

Other systems round out the inventory. Sennheiser Digital 6000 EM 6000 receivers with SK6000 and SKM6000 transmitters operate at the MBC Studios and NEOM Bajdah tier. Shure Axient Digital AD4 and ADX2 handle larger live-event deployment at Riyadh Season and MDLBEAST Soundstorm scale.

Here is the short of it. Live event RF planning scales hard around the Saudi calendar. MDLBEAST Soundstorm in December at Banban is the largest Middle East EDM festival. It deploys 40-60 wireless channels across Mainstage, Big Beast, and Sirius stages. Full Wireless Workbench and Wisycom Manager planning is standard.

Riyadh Season and the Boulevard City and Boulevard World annual events stack 80-120 channels across many concurrent stages. We set up through the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) for venue access. GEA handles performer licensing. CST handles range.

Major sports events also need heavy RF. The F1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit. The Saudi Cup horse race both deploy 30-50 RF channels. Channels cover commentary, IFB, and pit-lane comms.

Here is the breakdown. Hajj broadcast is off-limits. Coverage is only by accredited global Muslim TV networks. It runs separate range planning under GCAM. IFB routinely covers talent earpieces and director comms. Standard IFB systems have Comtek M-216, Lectrosonics IFB, and Shure PSM1000.

FAQ

Wireless Equipment Inventory

What wireless systems do you provide?

Here is the breakdown. We give pro wireless systems from top manufacturers including Lectrosonics (Digital Hybrid, DSQD), Wisycom (MCR series), Sennheiser (Digital 6000, EW series), and Audio Ltd (A10). System selection depends on your production needs, budget, and operating environment.

How do you handle frequency coordination in Saudi Arabia?

Here is what that looks like on the ground. We manage frequency planning according to Saudi RF rules (ANFR). This has range scanning at your locations, planning with other shoots sharing venues, and making sure compliance with licensed frequency bands. We handle the tech complexity so your production stays legal and interference-free.

What lavalier microphones do you recommend?

We give premium lavaliers from DPA (4060, 4061, 6060), Sanken (COS-11), and Countryman (B6). Microphone selection depends on application—we recommend based on concealment needs, sound traits, and compatibility with wardrobe and talent.

Can you support large multi-channel productions?

Yes. We often support shoots needing 20, 30, or 40+ wireless channels. This has feature films, large-scale commercials, and live events. We give frequency planning, enough receivers, backup systems, and skilled operators to manage complex wireless deployments.

What about IFB and communication systems?

We give IFB (interruptible foldback) systems for talent earpieces, director communication, and live broadcast applications. This has Comtek, Lectrosonics IFB, and Shure PSM systems, set up with your production's wireless microphone frequencies.

Do wireless systems come with operators?

Wireless gear can be rented standalone or with skilled sound teams who handle all wireless management. For complex deployments, we recommend including operators who specialize in RF planning and talent wiring.

Productions in Saudi Arabia that need this often pair it with Boom Operators, Sound Recordist Teams, and Location Sound Services for full coverage. Most projects also draw on Wireless Microphone Systems and Wireless Systems.
