Scroll

Location sound services cover the full audio capture workflow on set. We record dialogue and ambient sound. We run wireless systems and playback. From Riyadh's skyline to the old desert canyons of AlUla, our teams work in Saudi Arabia's harsh climate. The acoustic settings vary, so we bring heat-proof pro gear. A skilled sound team captures each part of the audio cleanly. Clean capture cuts the need for costly post-prod fixes.

We provide full location sound packages across Saudi Arabia. Our crews are based in Riyadh and Jeddah. They are skilled in both Arabic-language and global shoots. We set up crew and gear to match your format and scale. The audio we capture meets broadcast and theatrical standards.

Production sound mixers for AlUla wadi, Jeddah Al-Balad alleys, NEOM Bajdah stage

Saudi location sound faces many site-level and cultural factors. The Muezzin call-to-prayer sounds five times daily (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha). It hits 90-100 dB SPL at any urban site within ~500m of a mosque. So Riyadh, Jeddah, AlKhobar, and most Tabuk shoots get planned around these five fixed audio overrides. AlUla wadi shoots get cut by katabatic canyon wind at dawn and dusk. Empty Quarter desert recording fights sand-grain noise on diaphragms. We swap foam internals on site every 2-3 days. Red Sea coast humidity reaches 70-90% in summer. So all gear needs a desiccant routine. The F1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix at Jeddah Corniche Circuit pushes ambient near 100 dB through any nearby dialogue session. Our production sound mixers carry Sound Devices 833/888/Scorpio recorders with full Dante / AES42 setup. They use Schoeps CMIT 5U / SuperCMIT 2 booms. They use Sanken CS-3e and DPA 4017 for stereo work. Lectrosonics SRc/SMV/SMQV and Wisycom MTP41S body packs run through full RF planning. That planning ties to CST (Communications, Space and Technology Commission) frequency permits.

Our crew tier spans a wide range. It runs from MBC Studios commercial-spec day-rate to feature-spec Saudi narrative work (Sattar, Barakah Meets Barakah follow-on slate, Telfaz11 originals) to global fly-in shoots. Production sound mixers from London/LA fly in on 90-minute DXB→RUH connections. They bring their preferred boom ops and 2nd ACs. Saudi-resident mixers came up through MBC, Saudi Broadcasting Corporation, and Red Sea International Film Festival lab programs. Studio handoff is easy too. NEOM Bajdah Studios and MBC Studios Riyadh keep on-site sound-machine rooms. These rooms run Pro Tools HDX, Avid MTRX, and full Dolby Atmos tracking for production-to-post pipelines. Cultural Development Fund rebates cover production sound day-rates. To qualify, you staff through Saudi-registered hire houses that meet the Saudization Nitaqat threshold. We pre-clear permits with the Saudi Film Commission, RCU for AlUla, the NEOM authority for the special economic zone, and the General Commission for Audiovisual Media (GCAM) for any content with broadcast rights attached.

FAQ

Our Sound Network

What's included in location sound services?

Our location sound packages have a production sound mixer, pro recording gear, microphones, and basic wireless systems. We add boom operators, more wireless channels, and special gear as needed. The add-ons depend on your shoot and budget.

What recording formats do your mixers use?

Our sound mixers work with top recorders. These include Sound Devices, Zaxcom, and Zoom F-series. We deliver in all common formats (WAV, BWF, polyphonic). Each file ships with proper metadata, timecode, and sound reports. They work with major post-prod tools.

Can you handle challenging acoustic environments?

Yes. Our mixers are skilled at tough locations. These include busy streets, industrial sites, and echoey spaces. We check location acoustics during tech scouts. Then we suggest fixes like wireless lavaliers, directional mics, and portable acoustic treatment.

How do you coordinate with post-production?

We give detailed sound reports for each shoot day. We label and sort all audio files. We talk directly with your post team. Our mixers know post-prod workflows. They record with editing and mixing in mind.

What about multi-camera productions?

We're skilled with multi-camera setups for TV, live events, and documentary. Our mixers sync timecode across cameras and recorders. They manage ISO tracks for each source. They deliver stems that make post-prod easier.

Do you provide sound equipment rental separately?

Yes. We offer standalone sound gear rental. This covers recorders, microphones, wireless systems, and add-ons. You can rent gear with or without an operator. We can advise on the right package for your needs.

Productions in Saudi Arabia that need this often pair it with Wireless Audio Systems, Boom Operators, and Sound Recordist Teams for full coverage. Most projects also draw on Multi-Camera Shoots and Stop Motion Production.
