Portable Power Solutions in Saudi Arabia

Saudi power supply on location splits cleanly into two playbooks.

Here is how this works in practice. The first covers heritage and covered sites. The list has Diriyah Al-Turaif (UNESCO 2010), Historic Jeddah Al-Balad (UNESCO 2014), AlUla Old Town under Royal Commission for AlUla jurisdiction, and Hegra Nabataean tombs. All limit combustion-engine genset placement near stone surfaces and inside permit perimeters.

For these locations we deploy silent lithium banks. Standard kit has Goal Zero Yeti 6000X, EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra, and Bluetti AC500 with B300S. Larger HEPA-grade Honda EU22i and EU70iS hybrid units come in only where permits allow.

Here is the short of it. The second playbook covers remote production with no grid. The Empty Quarter is the largest sand desert worldwide — no grid coverage exists. AlUla outer wadi locations and Empty-Quarter-route Dakar Rally Saudi shoots fall into the same type. Diesel-spec super-silent gensets in the 20-100kVA range cover these jobs, with desert-prep fuel filtration.

Here is how the picture comes together. NEOM remote zones (Trojena mountain construction, The Line construction corridor, Oxagon coastal industrial) often run in new ways. They use NEOM-internal grid extensions or dedicated mobile substations. We set up those through the NEOM authority.

Distribution and crew workflow run to global film-electrical standards. Our genny ops handle ARRI and Aputure-spec power factor. They also manage 18kW load-balancing on tungsten or HMI departure work.

Connectors cover the global standards. CEE Form and IEC 60309 connectors cross over to UK and EU film standard for global touring. 110V/220V dual-voltage rigs cover US shoot teams flying in via Emirates DXB to RUH.

Power packs placement gets pre-cleared by jurisdiction. AlUla goes through RCU. NEOM goes through the NEOM authority. Both are separate jurisdictions from the mainland Saudi Film Commission.

Other compliance items matter too. Fuel handling crosses Saudi Customs (ZATCA) rules for fuel-on-car transport between regions. Saudization Nitaqat hiring quotas affect genny-operator day-rate qualification for the Cultural Development Fund 5% local-content rebates uplift.

Climate protocol matters in summer. Gensets derate above 45°C ambient — the June-September Saudi summer window. We oversize capacity by 25-30% for summer deployments. Alternatively, we schedule into the October-April cool window.
