Power Distribution Systems in Saudi Arabia
Safe, reliable on-set power for film and TV production in Saudi Arabia.
Power distribution systems route current safely. They feed power from generators or mains to lighting, camera, and crew gear across a set. Pro distro boxes, cable runs, and breaker panels keep loads balanced. They ground each line and send safe power to every department.
We give power distribution built for your shoot's load and set layout. Our team works with your gaffer and best boy. We make sure the right capacity, cable lengths, and safety gear are in place. We do this for each location on your schedule.

220V/60Hz Saudi-spec distro boxes, SEC tie-in permits, and Aggreko generator packages routed through MBC Studios for Riyadh stages, NEOM, and AlUla remote builds.
We build Saudi power distribution around the country's 220V/60Hz standard. That differs from the 220V/50Hz European norm most global gear ships set for. So we source 60Hz-ready distro boxes through MBC Studios' Riyadh and Jeddah electrics teams. Or we spec auto-switching units on each imported package. SEC (Saudi Electricity Company) tie-in permits handle building feeds into MBC's Riyadh stages and downtown commercial sites. Dedicated power packs ship through Aggreko Saudi, Cummins, and Caterpillar dealer networks. These serve AlUla, Empty Quarter, and remote location work. NEOM runs its own Acwa Power grid at the same 220V/60Hz spec. It has dedicated stage power feeds at Bajdah Studios, sized to the 9,000 m² footprint. Plug standards run mixed here. You see legacy Type G British, Type A/B North American, and more Type F European in newer buildings. So we ship multi-standard adapter kits on each booking.
Many shoots have leaned on our super-silent power packs for sound-sensitive work. These include Kandahar's NEOM exteriors, Desert Warrior's AlUla canyon builds, Cherry's Apple TV+ AlUla unit, and the Telfaz11 commercial pipeline. We run Saudi-specific haboob routines too. These guard power pack intake filters and distro box weather seals. Our coordinators stage more battery-and-solar hybrid packages on AlUla and Empty Quarter shoots. Fuel logistics across the Hisma Plateau get heavy there. Heat planning anchors each distro design. Summer highs of 45-50°C from June to September cut cable insulation rating. That calls for heavier-gauge feeders than European runs. Prayer-time pauses (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha) also serve as load-tracking windows. Saudization (Nitaqat) hiring of Saudi-national electricians earns shoots a 5% rebates uplift. That sits on top of the 40% Saudi Film Commission cash incentive.
FAQ
Power Distribution Expertise
What generator sizes do you provide?
We supply power packs from 20kVA to 500kVA. This includes super-silent units for sound-sensitive shoots. We run multi-pack setups for larger loads. We bring battery hybrid systems and tow plant units for many location needs.
How do you calculate power requirements?
We run careful load sums. We base them on your lighting package, camera and DIT needs, video village, and all other electrical draw. We count startup loads too. We add the right headroom for safe, steady power.
Can you provide power at historic locations?
Yes. We are experts at powering shoots at Saudi Arabia's historic locations. These include heritage forts, mosques, and covered sites. We work to venue needs and run cabling without damage. We meet all preservation rules.
Do you handle tie-ins to venue power?
Yes. We set up tie-ins to venue power where it fits. We work with licensed Saudi electricians and venue tech staff. We check on-hand power and arrange short-term hook-ups. We make sure of safe disconnection after your shoot.
What about power for remote locations?
For remote exteriors with no mains power, we bring full power pack rigs. These cover fuel handling, noise control, and multi-day runs. We plan the logistics so power never drops across your shoot.
How do you ensure electrical safety on set?
All gear is PAT tested and well rated. We use RCD protection on every line. We hire licensed electricians and follow Saudi electrical safety rules. Clear records and safety briefings keep the crew aware.
