Grip Services in Saudi Arabia

Professional grip crews and equipment for camera and lighting support across Saudi Arabia.

Scroll

Grip kit services give the support hardware and rigging that shapes light. They also position cameras on set. In Saudi Arabia, grip teams work across the Kingdom's growing setup in Riyadh and Jeddah. They also work at dramatic desert spots like AlUla's sandstone canyons.

We source grip kit and skilled grip crews. They can handle Saudi Arabia's harsh desert conditions. The Kingdom's film setup is growing fast under Vision 2030. Our team sets up gear from local and global rental sources to meet your key grip's specs.

Grip trucks, dollies, cranes — Riyadh build, NEOM Bajdah pre-rigs, Dubai cross-border

Saudi grip inventory has grown fast since the 2018 cinema-ban lift. It still leans on Dubai cross-border supply for tier-1 shoots. Filmquip Dubai, Picture Works, and Sigma Cine ship gear on Emirates SkyCargo DXB→RUH. That is a 90-minute flight. The gear moves under ATA carnet through Saudi Customs (ZATCA). We pre-clear carnets 7-14 days ahead. NEOM Bajdah Studios keeps in-house grip across the 4 sound stages. These total 9,000m² (largest sound stage complex in MENA). Pixomondo Riyadh holds LED Volume-grade grip for its in-house ICVFX pipeline. MBC Studios Riyadh + Jeddah hold standing grip-truck packages for episodic and commercial spend. Telfaz11 stocks for narrative features. It follows the Sattar (2022 box-office record) production model. Our key grips have Saudi-resident leads who came up through the 2019-2024 boom. We also keep UK/US-based key grips on a fly-in roster for shoots matching Kandahar/Desert Warrior tier.

Gear coverage spans the full global package. It includes Fisher 10/11 dollies with Hybrid IV legs and Chapman Hybrid IV/Peewee. It also includes the Panther dolly with track packages and the Technocrane 22/30/50 (cross-border from Dubai). The Russian Arm + Ultimate Arm are also Filmquip-routed. We bring Movi Pro and Ronin 4D for gimbal-handoff work. We hold full C-stand + flag + silk + double-net + bounce inventory. Specialty rigging covers truss systems for Maraya concert hall mirrored exterior shoots. We use weighted-base options for Diriyah Al-Turaif UNESCO mud-brick, where stakes are banned. We use low-angle dolly track for the narrow alleys of Historic Jeddah Al-Balad (UNESCO 2014 coral-stone). Heat protocol matters here. Aluminum dolly track expands at 45-50°C June-September. We route shade or schedule the cool window (October-April) on key move sequences. RCU jurisdiction covers all AlUla grip placement. This is separate from mainland Saudi Film Commission permits. NEOM authority covers anything inside the special economic zone perimeter.

FAQ

Our Grip Network

What does a grip department do?

The grip department supports both camera and lighting. They run dollies, cranes, and camera support gear for camera moves. They also handle all non-electrical lighting support. This means stands, rigging, diffusion frames, flags, and bounce/negative fill.

What positions are in a grip department?

Key Grip leads the department and works closely with the gaffer and DP. Best Boy Grip manages gear and logistics. Dolly Grip operates camera dollies. Company Grips handle general grip work. Rigging Grips focus on pre-rigging and construction.

When do I need a grip vs. an electrician?

Electricians handle anything electrical—lights, power, cables. Grips handle physical support and rigging—stands, camera move gear, flags, diffusion frames. The gaffer leads electrics. The key grip leads grip.

What equipment is included in grip packages?

Grip packages mostly have C-stands, flags, nets, silks, bounce boards, apple boxes, sandbags, clamps, and basic rigging. Dollies, cranes, and specialty gear are extra. We quote those items on their own.

Do your grips have rigging certifications?

Yes. Our rigging grips hold the right certifications for overhead work, truss systems, and safety rigging. Certified rigging supervisors oversee tricky rigging work. They meet industry safety needs.

Can you provide grip trucks with equipment?

We set up full grip truck packages through our rental partners. Each has the truck, driver, and full grip kit. We book crew on its own, based on your production's needs.

Productions in Saudi Arabia that need this often pair it with Portable Power Solutions, Gaffer & Lighting Services, and LED Lighting Systems for full coverage. Most projects also draw on Lighting & Grip and Green Screen Filming.
