Lighting Technician Services
Pro film lighting in Riyadh, Jeddah, AlUla, and across Saudi Arabia.
A lighting technician sets up and runs the lighting kit on a film or TV shoot. They carry out the gaffer's plan. They place fixtures, run power, and tune the brightness and color for the look you want. NEOM has new studios. AlUla has old desert scenery. Riyadh has a modern skyline. Sharp lighting backs all of it as Saudi Arabia\'s film sector grows fast.
We connect you with lighting technicians who bring both tech skill and a creative eye. They work on shoots of every size. Our network covers Riyadh, Jeddah, and AlUla. The technicians know Saudi Film Commission-supported shoots and global shoots across the Kingdom.

Saudi lighting techs — SkyPanel / Astera / HMI rigging, dimmer + DMX board, desert and studio
Our Saudi lighting technicians (sparks) install and run a deep fixture list. It covers ARRI SkyPanel S60-C / S360-C, ARRI Orbiter, Aputure Nova P600C / LS 600d Pro / 1200d Pro, Astera Titan / Helios LED tubes, and Quasar Q-LED. They also run tungsten Mole-Richardson and HMI heads (M40 / M90 / Joker Bug 1600 / Arrimax 12K / 18K). For boards, they use ETC Eos / Ion / Element and ChamSys MagicQ. They add Luminex DMX over-IP to plan large rigs. Recent global lighting work spans many titles. Kandahar shot in 2023 (Gerard Butler, AlUla + NEOM, $43M, dir. Ric Roman Waugh, DP MacGregor IAC). Desert Warrior shot in 2024 (Anthony Mackie, AlUla, dir. Rupert Wyatt, DP Polly Morgan ASC BSC). Cherry filmed for Apple TV+ in AlUla. Hellraiser shot plates in AlUla in 2022. Born a King filmed in 2019. The work also spans top studios. NEOM Bajdah has 9,000 m² across four sound stages, opened in 2022, and ranks largest in MENA. We also use MBC Studios Riyadh and Jeddah, Telfaz11 Studios, and Manga Productions Riyadh. Pixomondo Riyadh LED Volume ties SkyPanel and Brompton processor pipelines together. NEOM XR Lab runs Unreal Engine 5 virtual production.
Power distribution starts with silent gensets at 27kW / 60kW / 100kW (Cummins / Caterpillar). These run desert sets at AlUla / Hegra UNESCO 2008, Empty Quarter, Edge of the World, and the NEOM coastline. We tap the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) grid for Riyadh CBD and Jeddah locations. We use Movie Quality Power (MQP) distribution. Bates / Socapex / Lex Cam-Lok 400A camlocks are standard. Heat protocols are a must from June to September, when it hits 45-50°C. We use heat-rated cable insulation and IP-rated fixture sealing against Saudi dust and heat. We track breakers and check dimmer-pack temperatures often. AlUla turns cool on winter desert nights at 5-10°C, which leaves condensation on glass fixtures. Spring sandstorm (haboob) protocols call for sealed enclosures and post-storm fixture cleaning. Compliance covers many bodies. These span the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), CST (Communications, Space and Technology Commission) for wireless DMX, and Saudi Civil Defense for pyro / stunt lighting effects. We also handle GCAM type, GOSI payroll sign-ups, 15% VAT, and Saudization Nitaqat quotas (a 5% rebates uplift on the Cultural Development Fund's 40% cash rebates). We plan around prayer-time pauses, Friday ~12:00-13:30, and the Ramadan iftar-to-suhoor 9pm-2am peak production. The workweek runs Sunday-Thursday. There is no domestic Saudi lighting union. Global IATSE Local 728 / Local 40 / Light Crew / BECTU UK work routes run via Dubai EPS bureaus.
