Professional grip equipment for your Saudi production.

Scroll

Here is how this works in practice. Grip kit has the mechanical hardware used to support, position, and control cameras and lighting on set. C-stands, flags, nets, silks, clamps, and rigging hardware give grip teams the tools to shape light and enable precise camera placement in any environment.

Here is the short of it. We source full grip kit packages from local suppliers, scaled to your production's size and complexity. Our team makes sure all rigging, mounting, and light-control hardware is delivered in working condition, giving your grip department the tools to execute each setup efficiently.

On Location

Matthews and Mole-Richardson grip packages sourced from MBC Studios and cross-border via Filmquip Dubai, with desert-rated rigging for AlUla and Empty Quarter sets.

We assemble Saudi grip packages around MBC Studios' Riyadh and Jeddah inventories. The base kit covers the standard set. Matthews C-stands and combo stands, Mole-Richardson distribution, Kupo grip arms, and American Grip flag and net packages are all standard. Full 4x4 through 20x20 frame kits with silks, solids, and Griffolyn full the offering.

Here is how this works in practice. We backfill speciality items cross-border when builds outstrip Saudi-domestic stock. Examples have Current Studio Gear dance floors, MovieTech sliders, Mantis cranes, Ronford-Baker heads, and O'Connor 2575 and Sachtler Cine 30 fluid heads. Transport runs the E11 highway corridor from Filmquip Dubai or Picture Works Dubai.

NEOM Bajdah Studios runs its own grip pool. The pool is sized to a 9,000 m² stage footprint. We set up cross-truck inventory transfers when shoots move between Bajdah, AlUla, and Riyadh sound stages inside a single schedule.

Larger global shoots combine domestic and fly-in kit. Examples have Kandahar's NEOM build and Desert Warrior's AlUla stunt rigs. Both combined MBC's grip backbone with Bickers Action UK fly-ins. The fly-in kit covers stunt-grade speed rail and crash barriers.

Saudi-specific grip planning starts with the climate. Empty Quarter and AlUla shoots demand sand-rated dollies. Chapman Hybrid IV and Fisher 11s are sealed against fine quartz dust. We also use lightweight modular truss for desert tracking shots.

Balloon-light rigging via Airstar units serves night exterior wadis. Ground-stand lighting would cast unwanted shadows on the sandstone, so balloon lights are key. Units fly in through Emirates SkyCargo.

Power planning is layered. Our team specifies SEC (Saudi Electricity Company) tie-in permits when grip rigs need stage-floor power feeds inside MBC's Riyadh tricky.

Here is the short of it. Customs planning is similar. We plan ATA carnet manifests through Saudi Customs (ZATCA) at RUH, JED, or AlUla Global (ULH). That way imported Mole-Richardson distribution boards and Matthews backstage hardware clear under short-term import. They avoid the 5-15% SASO-rated duty.

Saudization quotas favour local key grips and grip BBs. That qualifies shoots for the 5% rebates uplift on top of the 40% headline cash rebates administered through the Saudi Film Commission.
