SCENE 01 / POWER SOLUTIONS

Power Solutions in Saudi Arabia

Professional production power for your Saudi production.

Scroll

Power for film work spans portable power packs, battery systems, solar rigs, and hybrid setups. They deliver steady electricity in any spot. The right pick depends on load needs and noise limits. It also depends on the site and the logistics of each shoot.

We check your power needs first. Then we source the right gear from local providers. That can mean quiet power packs for dialogue scenes. It can mean high-capacity units for big lighting setups. Or it can mean battery systems for far-off spots. Our team handles delivery, fueling, and tech support across your shoot.

On Location

Aggreko Saudi generators, Anton Bauer V-mount batteries, and battery-solar hybrid packages built for 220V/60Hz with SEC tie-in permits and CITC compliance.

We design Saudi power around the 220V/60Hz standard. This sets the kingdom apart from European-spec (50Hz) and North American (110V/60Hz) norms. So each imported HMI ballast, distro box, and battery charger gets pre-flagged for 60Hz fit before booking. Power pack supply runs through Aggreko Saudi (Riyadh and Jeddah depots), Cummins, and Caterpillar dealer networks. Super-silent units (50dB-rated at 7m) suit sound-sensitive narrative shoots at MBC Studios and NEOM Bajdah. Tow-plant gennies suit AlUla and Empty Quarter remote builds. SEC (Saudi Electricity Company) tie-in permits handle mains feeds into MBC's Riyadh stage complex and downtown Jeddah commercial sites. NEOM's own Acwa Power grid gives dedicated stage feeds at Bajdah Studios, sized to the 9,000 m² footprint. Battery packages run Anton Bauer Dionic and Cine, IDX Endura, and Core SWX Hypercore. They come in V-mount and Gold mount setups, prepped through MBC's electrics bay.

Kandahar at NEOM, Desert Warrior across AlUla, Cherry's Apple TV+ AlUla unit, and the Telfaz11 commercial pipeline have all leaned on hybrid power pack-battery-solar packages. AlUla canyon and Empty Quarter fuel runs across the Hisma Plateau grow heavy on multi-week schedules. So our coordinators spec battery-solar hybrid systems for remote dawn-shoot builds. These pair Anker SOLIX or Goal Zero Yeti banks with portable solar mats. They suit spots where power pack noise would harm capture quality. Heat is the working limit. 45-50°C June-September highs degrade battery chemistry fast. That calls for shade-tent storage and AC-trailer charging stations. Haboob exposure also shortens power pack intake filter life. So we keep spare filters in place on each booking. Saudization (Nitaqat) hiring of Saudi-national electricians earns shoots the 5% rebates uplift on the 40% Saudi Film Commission cash incentive.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What size generators do you provide?

We supply power packs from small 20kW portable units to large 500kW tow-behind units. Most narrative shoots use power packs in the 60-150kW range. The size depends on lighting needs. We can size the right unit for your shoot.

Are your generators suitable for film sets?

Yes. We give super-silent power packs built for film work. These units are baffled and housed to cut noise. So you can place them closer to set without harming sound recording.

Can you coordinate tie-ins?

Yes. We can set up building tie-ins where they fit and are allowed. Tie-ins can cost less for studio work. They also suit locations with enough electrical setup. Our team handles all planning with building management.

What battery systems do you offer?

We stock V-mount and Gold mount batteries from Anton Bauer, IDX, and others. They power cinema cameras and accessories. We also give block batteries for larger gear. And we set up full charging stations for multi-camera shoots.

Do you provide electricians?

Yes. We work with skilled Saudi electricians who know film work. A local electrical crew keeps you in line with Saudi rules. It also keeps power flow safe and tidy.

What about remote locations?

We can power shoots in far-off spots across Saudi Arabia. We set up power pack delivery and fuel supply. We also give tech support for sites with no easy grid access.

Productions in Saudi Arabia that need this often pair it with Power Distribution Systems for full coverage. Most projects also draw on Lighting Equipment Rental and Audio Equipment Rental.
