Monitor & Video Village in Saudi Arabia

Here is how this works in practice. We build Saudi video village setups around the standard infrastructure MBC Studios in Riyadh and Jeddah runs. Wireless transmitters are Teradek Bolt 6 LT and Bolt 4K, paired with multi-camera receiver farms. Director references have TVLogic LVM-181S 17-inch and 24-inch displays.

Here is the short of it. Other tracking kit covers specialty needs. Atomos Sumo and Shogun Studio 2 handle recording and tracking. The Sony BVM-HX310 OLED handles HDR references for top feature work. QTake Server playback stations handle instant replay and VFX reference overlay.

Director-to-set comms integrate cleanly. Clear-Com FreeSpeak II and Riedel Bolero intercom packages handle that side. CST wireless licensing covers each Teradek block, plus audio wireless and IFB.

Stage and overflow capacity are covered too. NEOM Bajdah Studios' 9,000 m² stage build runs dedicated video village rigs sized for the LED Volume virtual production workflow. We cross-source overflow through Filmquip Dubai and Picture Works Dubai via the 12-hour E11 highway corridor.

Here is the breakdown. Several major shoots have used shade-tent video village configurations. Examples have Kandahar's NEOM video village build, Desert Warrior's AlUla mobile setups, Cherry's Apple TV+ AlUla unit, and the Telfaz11 commercial pipeline. AlUla canyon ambient and Empty Quarter direct sun both exceed standard LCD brightness operating limits.

Here is what that looks like on the ground. Climate-controlled tents are key. Portable AC units power through Aggreko Saudi or Cummins power packs at the 220V/60Hz Saudi standard. Sun-readable monitor placement and haboob-covered covers go on each display. Fine quartz dust embedded in screen surfaces causes permanent damage.

Remote-producer feeds bridge back to Riyadh post houses. We use Telos and Comrex codec links. Starlink has been trialled at NEOM for low-latency cloud-side viewing. ATA carnet processing through Saudi Customs (ZATCA) at RUH, JED, or ULH keeps zero customs duty on short-term import.
