SCENE 01 / FIELD MONITORS

Field Monitors in Saudi Arabia

Professional monitoring solutions for your Saudi production.

Scroll

Field monitors are portable, high-resolution displays. Camera operators and directors use them on location. They check focus, exposure, and framing. Pro field monitors give true color and waveform tools. The screens stay bright in the sun. That makes them key for location work.

We give field monitors with the screen sizes, resolution, and features your camera team needs. Our team sources local units that match your camera's output signals. We bundle delivery with your wider gear package. That keeps prep quick and simple.

SmallHD Cine 7, TVLogic LVM, Atomos Sumo, and Sony OLED reference monitors sourced through MBC Studios with HDR calibration for AlUla and NEOM bright exteriors.

We source Saudi field-monitor packages from MBC Studios' Riyadh and Jeddah camera divisions. The kit spans SmallHD Cine 7 and Indie 7 onboard monitors and Cine 18 and 24 director references. It adds TVLogic LVM-181S and F-7H HDR units. Atomos Sumo 19 and Shogun Studio 2 cover the record-and-track chains. Sony BVM-HX310 OLED reference monitors handle HDR-grade dailies. Convergent Design Odyssey 7Q+ legacy stations round it out. Calibration runs on Klein K10-A and Calman pipelines before delivery. Show LUTs go on through MBC's DIT bench. So the whole video village reads true from on-set capture to playback. NEOM XR Lab and Pixomondo Riyadh's LED Volume stages each run their own HDR-reference monitor stock. These are sized for Unreal Engine virtual production work. We cross-source overflow through Filmquip Dubai and Picture Works Dubai. The gear comes up the 12-hour E11 highway corridor.

Several big shoots have leaned on dual-output field tracking. These include Kandahar's NEOM HDR pipeline and Desert Warrior's AlUla daily-grade workflow. They also include Cherry's Apple TV+ AlUla unit and the Telfaz11 commercial Sony VENICE 2 pipeline. The setup pairs an onboard SmallHD Cine 7 with TVLogic 18-inch video village displays. They use it because AlUla canyon light and Empty Quarter direct sun both top standard SDR brightness. Our coordinators spec shade-tent video village builds for desert sets. June-to-September highs of 45-50°C choke most LCD backlights past safe limits. We keep haboob covers on each monitor between setups. Fine quartz dust scratches screen surfaces. ATA carnet work goes through Saudi Customs (ZATCA) at Riyadh King Khalid (RUH), Jeddah King Abdulaziz (JED), or AlUla International (ULH). That keeps zero customs duty on short-term import.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What on-camera monitors do you recommend?

For most shoots, we suggest the SmallHD 702 Touch or the Atomos Ninja series. They blend great image quality, brightness, and range. They show up well in daylight. They also pack handy tools like waveforms and LUTs.

What size director's monitor is standard?

17-inch monitors are common for video village. We also give 24-inch and 32-inch options for bigger setups. The right size depends on viewing distance. It also depends on how many people watch and how much space you have.

Can you provide wireless video?

Yes, we supply Teradek Bolt and Vaxis wireless systems. They send video with no lag and stay solid. Directors and clients can watch the feed. They do not need to be wired to the camera.

Do monitors come calibrated?

Yes, we calibrate every monitor before delivery with pro gear. This keeps color true across your whole tracking chain.

What about HDR monitoring?

We give HDR-capable monitors for shoots that need high dynamic range tracking. These include Sony OLED monitors and the SmallHD Cine series. Both bring the right brightness and color gamut.

Can you set up complete video villages?

Yes, we build full video villages. These pack many director's monitors, client monitors, and wireless receivers. We bring all the cabling and signal feeds you need too.

Productions in Saudi Arabia that need this often pair it with Wireless Video Systems and Monitor & Video Village for full coverage. Most projects also draw on Audio Monitoring Equipment and Lens Filters.
