Director of Photography Services in Saudi Arabia
Experienced DPs for film, TV, commercials, and documentaries throughout Saudi Arabia.
A Director of Photography shapes how a production looks. They make the calls on lighting, camera moves, lens choice, and framing. Saudi Arabia's film scene is growing fast. The Saudi Film Commission and Vision 2030 money drive it. The desert helps too — from the red sands of the Empty Quarter to the old rock shapes of AlUla. These draw global shoots. They also build a new wave of local DPs.
We connect you with skilled Directors of Photography. They know both the creative and the hands-on side of your shoot. Maybe you film at NEOM's studios. Maybe you film on location in Jeddah. Either way, our team picks DPs with the right eye. They handle Saudi Arabia's filming needs. The Saudi Film Commission's incentive program backs the work.

DPs who read the Saudi light — AlUla sandstone, NEOM coast, Riyadh skyline
Our Saudi DP roster mixes two kinds of talent. Some are local cinematographers. They came up through Telfaz11, MBC Studios Riyadh, and the Red Sea International Film Festival labs. Others are global DPs who fly in via the 90-minute DXB→RUH corridor. Polly Morgan ASC BSC shot Desert Warrior on AlUla sandstone for director Rupert Wyatt. MacGregor IAC ran second-unit on Kandahar across AlUla and NEOM for Ric Roman Waugh. Saudi-resident DPs like Wael Abu Mansour and Ahmad Salman know the AlUla micro-climate well. Hot desert days bake gear past its 40°C rating by 11am. Then clear nights drop to 5-10°C. That opens a window for astrophotography and dunes-and-stars time-lapse. We match DPs to brief and terrain. You might want an ARRI Alexa 35 owner-operator for handheld AlUla heritage docs — think Hegra Nabataean tombs or AlUla Old Town coral-stone walls. Or a Sony Venice 2 DP with Kingdom Centre rooftop work for Riyadh CBD commercials. Or a Telfaz11-trained narrative DP who directs on set in Arabic for Saudi feature work like Sattar or Barakah Meets Barakah follow-ons.
Book through us and the DP arrives with the rest of the Saudi setup in place. We pre-clear Saudi Film Commission permits. We set up Royal Commission for AlUla approvals when the brief touches Hegra, Maraya, or AlUla Old Town. RCU runs its own zone with its own location fees and rules on native wildlife. We talk to the NEOM authority for Sindalah, The Line, and Trojena shoots. We also route the 40% Cultural Development Fund rebate forms — a 35% base plus a 5% Saudi content and talent boost. That way DP day-rates qualify once the shoot hits the Saudization Nitaqat thresholds. We brief incoming global DPs on a few key points. The muezzin call to prayer sounds five times daily — Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha — so dialogue recording doesn't waste setups. The Mecca and Medina aerial no-fly zones matter if the shot list ever drifts that way. And the Red Sea Film Festival December window fills Jeddah Al-Balad with shoots all at once.
FAQ
Our DP Network
What experience levels of DPs do you provide?
We give DPs at every level. Fresh cinematographers suit indie and low-budget work. Mid-level DPs bring solid commercial and documentary credits. Senior DPs have feature film and global broadcast work. We match the level to your budget and needs.
How do you match DPs to projects?
We read your creative brief, reference clips, and budget. Then we shortlist DPs with the right genre work and look. You get picked showreels. You can also talk to each DP before you book.
What camera systems do your DPs work with?
Our DPs work across all major cinema camera systems. These include ARRI Alexa, RED, Sony Venice, Blackmagic, and Canon cinema lines. Many know one system best. But all adapt to your needs and what gear you can rent.
Do DPs come with their own equipment?
Some owner-operator DPs bring their own camera packages. Others work with rented gear. We source gear to fit your choice and budget. That can be DP-owned gear, rental houses, or gear the production gives.
Can you provide international DPs for shoots in Saudi Arabia?
Yes. We can source global DPs for shoots in Saudi Arabia. We handle their work permits and travel. We also give Saudi DPs for global shoots that need local camera talent abroad.
What's included in DP day rates?
Standard DP day rates cover on-set camera work during shoot hours. Prep work — tech scouts, shot lists, meetings — is mostly billed on its own. Gear, camera assistants, and late hours cost extra, based on your scope.
