Saudi gear planning works against a rental base that has grown fast. It is still thinner than Dubai's. Inside the Kingdom, NEOM Bajdah Studios holds the deepest single-site kit. It is the largest stage complex in MENA at 9,000 m² across four sound stages, opened 2022, and has backed Kandahar, Desert Warrior, and other major global shoots. MBC Studios Riyadh and MBC Group Jeddah stock broadcast and commercial gear. Big Time Studios Riyadh runs feature-grade packages. AlUla's film studios setup, under the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU), serves Film AlUla shoots in-region. For specialty kit, we look outside. This covers ARRI Alexa 35 / LF / Mini LF / 65, Phantom Flex 4K, RED V-Raptor, large-format anamorphic glass, and Technocrane / Scorpio / Stab-C remote heads. We often pull these from Dubai-based rental houses (Filmquip, ARRI Rental Middle East, Cinerent, Mantra Lens) across the Saudi-UAE border. They fly in via Emirates Cargo to Riyadh King Khalid (RUH), Jeddah King Abdulaziz (JED), or AlUla International (ULH).
Customs and aviation gates set the gear timeline. ATA carnets clear through Saudi Customs (ZATCA) at the port of entry. That is mostly RUH, JED, or ULH cargo, with Dubai DXB transit common via DHL and Emirates SkyCargo. Drone gear needs GACA (General Authority of Civil Aviation) clearance per operator and per airspace. You get a separate sign-off for AlUla airspace (RCU sets it up) and NEOM airspace (NEOM authority). The Mecca off-limits zone bans flight within a wide buffer.
