SCENE 01 / COLOR GRADING
Color Grading in Saudi Arabia
Creative color grading that transforms your footage into cinematic masterpieces with emotional depth and visual impact.
Here is how this works in practice. Grading is the creative process of manipulating color, contrast, and tonal qualities to set up mood, visual style, and narrative meaning. Working in calibrated grading suites, colorists shape the emotional tone of each scene through deliberate color choices that serve the director's storytelling vision.
Here is the short of it. We set up grading sessions with skilled colorists in professionally calibrated grading environments. Our team manages media preparation, reference material, and scheduling to make sure your production receives the creative color treatment that brings your director's visual vision to life on screen.

On Location
Senior colorists in Riyadh and Jeddah delivering DaVinci Resolve and Baselight grades for Red Sea International Film Festival theatrical, Shahid VIP originals, Netflix MENA Dolby Vision masters, and AlUla feature pipelines.
Here is how this works in practice. We connect shoots with senior colorists across the kingdom. Suites run at MBC Studios Riyadh, Telfaz11, Pixomondo Riyadh, and Image Production House Dubai (for cross-border Saudi-Emirati work). For global features that need finishing partnerships, we also set up with ARRI Rental London and Munich.
Here is the short of it. DaVinci Resolve Studio is the dominant grading tool. Full Mini Panel and Advanced Panel deployments are standard. Baselight (FilmLight) is used at MBC's flagship suite and select top boutiques. Mistika Boutique looks at some VFX-heavy facilities.
We grade in ACES from set CDLs through to final Dolby Vision and HDR10+ trims. Reference displays have calibrated Sony BVM-HX310 and Flanders Scientific units at 1000 nits for streaming HDR work. Theatrical grading and RSIFF DCP review use Christie or Barco DLP projection at 14fL DCI-P3.
Here is the breakdown. Saudi grading aesthetics commonly draw on a distinct regional palette. Sources have sandstone, ochre, and deep-shadow tones from AlUla's Hegra rock-cut tombs, Wadi Al-Disah valleys, Empty Quarter dunes, Riyadh skyline blue hour, and Jeddah Old Town (Al-Balad) UNESCO heritage stone. Colorists balance practical desert sun against studio-controlled NEOM XR Lab LED Volume environments.
Here is what that looks like on the ground. Saudi Arabia's color heritage runs through several pipelines. MBC Group runs the dominant broadcast pipeline. Manga Productions Riyadh runs Saudi-Japan animation, with anime LUT pipelines trained at Toei Animation Japan. Telfaz11 runs narrative work (Sattar, the 2022 box-office record).
Here is how the picture comes as one. Global features that shot at AlUla and NEOM mostly finish overseas but exchange CDL and LMT data with Saudi DITs. Recent examples have Kandahar (2023, Gerard Butler), Desert Warrior (2024, Anthony Mackie), Cherry (Apple TV+, partial AlUla), and Hellraiser 2022 plates.
Here is what we have to work with. We deliver across each distribution chain. Dolby Vision masters go to Apple TV+ Arabic and Netflix MENA. HDR10+ goes to Amazon Prime Video Arabia. HLG covers HDR broadcast on MBC and Saudi Broadcasting Corporation. DCI-P3 24fps theatrical DCPs go to AMC Saudi Arabia, VOX Cinemas, Muvi Cinemas, and Empire Cinemas.
Festival prints have their own deliverables. Outlets have the Red Sea Global Film Festival at Ritz-Carlton Jeddah and Al-Balad heritage venues, the Saudi Film Festival Dhahran at Ithra, and the AlUla Film Awards. Remote grading is supported via Streambox and Sohonet ClearView Flex for global DOPs. Pricing is in SAR at 3.75:1 USD, with 15% VAT and a Sunday-Thursday workweek.
