Video Assist
Pro video help operators. We give tracking and playback for shoots across Saudi Arabia, \t\t\t\t\t\tfrom Riyadh's NEOM studios to AlUla's desert.
A video help operator runs the on-set playback system. It lets the director, cinematographer, and other key staff review takes at once. They watch right after each take is filmed. NEOM's new studios and AlUla's UNESCO World Heritage sites both need this. Good video help drives quick choices on set. The operator captures a feed from the camera. They manage monitors too. They keep a clear library of takes and selects all day.
We connect you with video help operators across Saudi Arabia. They keep your on-set review flow running well. Our network has pros skilled with the newest playback systems. They know multi-camera setups and remote tracking tools. You may film Saudi Film Commission-backed features in Riyadh. You may film global co-productions in Jeddah and the Red Sea coast. Either way, our operators give broadcast-standard work for features, series, and commercial shoots.

On Location
Saudi video assist — QTake / Live Grade, Teradek Bolt 6 wireless, CST frequency licensing, AlUla remote-village
Our Saudi video-help operators (VAOs / video village engineers) run QTake HD / Pro. They use Pomfort Live Grade Studio for on-set look work. They add AJA Ki Pro Ultra Plus + Atomos Sumo for clean ProRes capture. Wireless transmission: Teradek Bolt 6 (long-range 1500 / 4K LT / 4K MAX), Hollyland Pyro 7, Vaxis Storm 3000. All are set up through CST (Communications, Space and Technology Commission) for Saudi-OK'd 5GHz / 6GHz frequency assignments. Monitor stack: Atomos Shogun 7, SmallHD 1303 HDR Production / Cine 18, Flanders Scientific CM171, plus director monitor SmallHD 503U. We did recent global video village work on Kandahar (Gerard Butler 2023 AlUla + NEOM $43M dir. Ric Roman Waugh, DP MacGregor IAC) and Desert Warrior (Anthony Mackie 2024 AlUla dir. Rupert Wyatt, DP Polly Morgan ASC BSC). Both used multi-camera (A / B / C-cam + drone unit) live switching with Blackmagic ATEM Mini Pro. We cycled Live Grade ACES LUTs for DP look sign-off.
Field conditions matter here. AlUla remote-village shoots run on a generator with no grid power. A UPS-backed video village cart is standard, plus an AC-shaded tent. June-September brings 45-50°C heat that hurts display panel performance. We use heat-rated monitors and active cooling fan setups. AlUla cool desert nights drop to 5-10°C in winter and cause condensation. Spring sandstorm (haboob) calls for sealed-enclosure rules. Compliance has many parts. CST wireless frequency assignment is needed for any wireless video — if you skip it, the shoot can be stopped. You also need GCAM (General Commission for Audiovisual Media) type on dailies, GOSI payroll sign-ups, 15% VAT, and Saudization Nitaqat quotas. Those quotas add a 5% rebates uplift on the Cultural Development Fund's 40% cash rebates. You also need Ministry of Human Resources work permits. Prayer-time pauses come five times a day. Friday runs ~12:00-13:30. Ramadan shifts work to iftar-to-suhoor 9pm-2am. The workweek is Sunday-Thursday. Cloud dailies go via Aspera FASP / Signiant Media Shuttle to the AWS Saudi region / Bahrain region. This meets NDMO (National Data Management Office) data-residency rules. SFDA halal craft catering is at the video village. There is no domestic Saudi video-help union. Global IATSE Local 600 / Local 695 video-help tier work routes via Dubai EPS bureaus (Entertainment Partners ME, Talent Bank Dubai).
