Here is the short of it. We connect you with video help operators who keep your on-set review workflow running smoothly across Saudi Arabia. Our network has pros skilled with the newest playback systems, multi-camera setups, and remote tracking solutions — whether you are filming Saudi Film Commission-supported features in Riyadh or global co-productions in Jeddah and the Red Sea coast, our operators deliver broadcast-standard results for features, series, and commercial shoots.

On Location

Saudi video assist — QTake / Live Grade, Teradek Bolt 6 wireless, CST frequency licensing, AlUla remote-village

Our Saudi video-help operators (VAOs and video village engineers) run a today's stack. Playback tools have QTake HD and Pro, plus Pomfort Live Grade Studio for on-set look application. AJA Ki Pro Ultra Plus and Atomos Sumo handle clean ProRes capture.

Wireless transmission runs through several systems. Options have the Teradek Bolt 6 (long-range 1500, 4K LT, and 4K MAX), Hollyland Pyro 7, and Vaxis Storm 3000. All set up through CST for Saudi-approved 5GHz and 6GHz frequency assignments.

The monitor stack covers the major tiers. Production monitors have the Atomos Shogun 7, SmallHD 1303 HDR Production and Cine 18, and Flanders Scientific CM171. Director monitor is mostly the SmallHD 503U.

Recent global video village work shows the model. Examples have Kandahar (Gerard Butler 2023, AlUla and NEOM, $43M, dir. Ric Roman Waugh, DP MacGregor IAC) and Desert Warrior (Anthony Mackie 2024, AlUla, dir. Rupert Wyatt, DP Polly Morgan ASC BSC). Both supported multi-camera live switching across A, B, and C-cam plus a drone unit. The rig used a Blackmagic ATEM Mini Pro and Live Grade ACES LUT cycling for DP look approval.

Here is how this works in practice. Field conditions are demanding. AlUla remote-village shoots run gen-only with no grid power. UPS-backed video village cart is standard, plus an AC-shaded tent. June-September 45-50°C heat affects display panel performance — heat-rated monitors and active cooling fan setups are needed.

Winter and storm conditions also drive protocols. AlUla winter nights drop to 5-10°C, which causes condensation. Spring sandstorms (haboob) demand sealed-enclosure protocols.

Here is the short of it. Compliance covers many bases. CST wireless frequency assignment is required for any wireless video — non-compliance can trigger production stoppage. GCAM handles type on dailies. GOSI payroll sign-ups, 15% VAT, and Saudization Nitaqat quotas all apply. Nitaqat hires drive the 5% rebates uplift on the CDF 40% rebates. Ministry of Human Resources work permits cover expat crew.

Here is the breakdown. Schedules handle prayer-time pauses five times daily plus Friday around 12:00-13:30. During Ramadan, the iftar-to-suhoor 9pm-2am window is peak production time. The workweek runs Sunday-Thursday. Cloud dailies route via Aspera FASP or Signiant Media Shuttle to AWS Saudi region or Bahrain region, with NDMO data-residency compliance. SFDA halal craft catering serves the video village. There is no domestic Saudi video-help union — global IATSE Local 600 and Local 695 video-help tier work routes via Dubai EPS bureaus (Entertainment Partners ME, Talent Bank Dubai).
