Skilled 2nd ADs keep your Saudi shoot on schedule, from Riyadh to Jeddah.
The 2nd Assistant Director runs call sheets on a Saudi shoot. They set up background artists too. They handle the small logistics so the 1st AD can focus on the floor. In Saudi Arabia, 2nd ADs must track crew hours under Saudi Labour Law. They set up talent across many sites. They also manage the admin for shoots that tap local film incentive programmes.
Through NeedAFixer, we connect you with Arabic and English-speaking 2nd ADs. They bring tidy planning and clear talk to each shoot day. Our network has pros skilled with features and series at NEOM Studios and Film AlUla. They also know multi-site shoots and the global co-productions that Saudi Arabia's rebates scheme draws in.

Saudi 2nd AD background and call sheets — modest-dress compliance, prayer-time scheduling, multilingual crew
Our Saudi 2nd ADs build call sheets, cast wrangling, and background plans across many sites. These span NEOM Bajdah Studios (9,000 m² largest in MENA, four sound stages), MBC Studios Riyadh and Jeddah, and Telfaz11 Studios (Sattar 2022 Saudi box-office record dir. Ali Kalthami). They also cover Manga Productions Riyadh (Saudi-Japan Toei Animation JV). Field shoots run at AlUla / Hegra UNESCO 2008 (Kandahar 2023 Gerard Butler $43M dir. Ric Roman Waugh, Desert Warrior 2024 Anthony Mackie dir. Rupert Wyatt, Cherry Apple TV+, Hellraiser plates 2022, Born a King 2019). We cast background extras through the GEA (General Entertainment Authority) performer registry. Saudi has no home film actor union. So we draw on the kingdom's many-language workforce: Arabic MSA + Najdi (Riyadh) / Hejazi (Jeddah) / Eastern (Dammam) dialects, English, Urdu (large Pakistani expat pool), Filipino, Hindi, Bengali, Tagalog, Indonesian. Saudi-resident actors feed lead and supporting roles. They include Mila Al Zahrani (The Perfect Candidate), Waad Mohammed (Wadjda), Fatima Al-Banawi (Barakah Meets Barakah), Hisham Fageeh, Fahad Albutairi, Saeed Saleh, Khalid Saqer, Sumayya Sabbagh, Bayan Al-Zahrani, plus the Telfaz11 ensemble.
The schedule works around prayer-time pauses five times daily (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha). It also plans for Friday ~12:00-13:30 and Ramadan iftar-to-suhoor 9pm-2am peak windows. October-April is the best shoot window (15-30°C). June-September brings 45-50°C extreme heat (heat-illness protocols required). Female on-camera talent on domestic broadcast (MBC, Saudi Broadcasting Corporation) must meet a modest dress code. We handle this through wardrobe planning: abaya layering, sleeve and neckline build, no skin exposure. Religious site rules bar non-Muslim background within Mecca / Medina Haram. We run Bedouin-tribal / Najdi / Hejazi / Asiri heritage background work for Saudi National Day (Sept 23) and Founding Day (Feb 22) campaigns. Compliance covers GCAM (General Commission for Audiovisual Media) type and Ministry of Human Resources work permits and Iqama residency. It also covers GOSI payroll sign-ups, 15% VAT, and Saudization Nitaqat quotas. Saudi-national background hires drive a 5% rebates uplift on the Cultural Development Fund's 40% cash rebates. Tawuniya / Bupa Arabia medical insurance applies too. The workweek runs Sunday-Thursday. International DGA / DGGB 2nd AD work routes via Dubai EPS bureaus (Entertainment Partners ME, Talent Bank Dubai).
