LTO-9 archive is the Saudi standard for masters. Our team stages dual-copy LTO with hash-verified offsite duplicates. Cloud-mirrored dailies route through AWS Saudi Region (opened in Riyadh 2024) or Google Cloud Dammam Region.
Here is the short of it. Data residency planning runs alongside compliance. CITC and NDMO (National Data Management Office) rules apply to any production tied to royal commission, GEA, or defense-adjacent content. State-anchored shoots in AlUla and NEOM increasingly carry sovereign data clauses.
Here is the breakdown. Several major shoots have used hybrid Saudi-Dubai DIT pipelines. Kandahar at NEOM, Desert Warrior at AlUla, and Cherry's Apple TV+ pickup units all worked this way. Dailies encode on cart in 220V/60Hz-rated workstations. They then mirror across the E11 corridor to Picture Works Dubai for second-copy archive within a 24-hour window.
