On Location

Destination films for Visit Saudi (Saudi Tourism Authority), the Royal Commission for AlUla, Diriyah Gate, Red Sea Global, AMAALA, NEOM Sindalah and Roshn — supporting the Vision 2030 target of 150 million annual visitors by 2030.

We produce destination and lifestyle content across the full Saudi Tourism Authority (Visit Saudi) campaign spine.

Here is how this works in practice. Anchor location work covers the kingdom's signature UNESCO heritage. Sites have AlUla's Hegra Nabataean tombs (UNESCO 2008, Saudi Arabia's first World Heritage Site), Diriyah's At-Turaif mud-brick palaces (UNESCO 2010, the Al Saud ancestral seat), and Historic Jeddah Al-Balad (UNESCO 2014).

Here is the short of it. Natural landscape coverage rounds out the slate. Locations have the Edge of the World cliffs at Jebel Fihrayn (90 minutes from Riyadh), the Empty Quarter (the world's largest contiguous sand desert), the Asir Mountains and Abha at 2,200m elevation, and the Farasan Islands marine reserves off the Red Sea coast.

Here is the breakdown. The brand-tourism slate is broad. Red Sea Global resort launches have St. Regis Red Sea, Six Senses Southern Dunes, and Nujuma Ritz-Carlton Reserve. AMAALA covers wellness positioning. NEOM Sindalah anchors luxury-island launch content. Roshn drives community-lifestyle reels. The Diriyah Gate Development Authority drives the cultural-tourism campaign.

Seasonal-marketing work is constant. Riyadh Season (October-March) and Jeddah Season produce ongoing work. Activations tie to Boulevard City, Boulevard World, and Riyadh Front.

Here is what that looks like on the ground. Pre-production runs through several authorities. The Royal Commission for AlUla permits any filming at Hegra, Dadan, Jabal Ikmah inscriptions, the Maraya concert hall, or the AlUla Old Town. The Saudi Tourism Authority handles state-wide-positioned campaign work. GACA handles drone overflights — Hegra airspace is specific tightly controlled.

The e-visa launched in 2019 has made foreign crew access straightforward. But Saudi Film Commission accreditation stays the gate-keeper for commercial work.

Climate scheduling is the single biggest budget lever. AlUla, Edge of the World, and Empty Quarter shoots run October through April. Daytime sits at 15-30°C. AlUla nights cool to 5-10°C in January.

Here is how the picture comes as one. Red Sea and Farasan coastal work avoids July-September fully. Conditions hit 45-50°C plus 70-90% humidity. Sandstorms (haboobs) are a spring risk for desert shoots. We build weather backup days into each AlUla call sheet. Bilingual Arabic-English with Filipino, Hindi, and Urdu workforce coverage is standard.
