Location Management Services in Saudi Arabia

Professional on-site coordination and location supervision across Saudi Arabia.

Scroll

Location management in Saudi Arabia covers four jobs. We scout, secure, prep, and run filming sites across a shoot. Our location managers set up access, permits, parking, power, crowd control, and site repair. We work at AlUla's Hegra tombs, Riyadh's Edge of the World, and Jeddah's historic Al-Balad. We make each site ready to film. Then we return it to its first state when the shoot ends.

We give full location management services for your sites across Saudi Arabia. We handle each part of the job. Our team scouts sites and locks in access. On shoot days we run the logistics. That includes extreme desert heat and the new film setup in just-opened regions. We also oversee site repair. This lets your creative team focus fully on the shoot.

On Location

Location management on the ground in Saudi Arabia coordinates daily access to AlUla / Hegra / Madain Salih, NEOM Bajdah Studios, Riyadh CBD with Kingdom Centre and Al Faisaliah, Jeddah Al-Balad UNESCO, Diriyah, Edge of the World, and Empty Quarter dunes under separate RCU, NEOM, RCRC, and Saudi Film Commission jurisdictions

Our location managers run daily work across three zones. Each zone has its own rules. Mainland Saudi shoots fall under the Saudi Film Commission. These cover Riyadh (Kingdom Centre Tower, Al Faisaliah, the King Abdullah Financial District, and Diriyah's Al-Turaif UNESCO district). They also cover Jeddah (Corniche, Historic Jeddah Al-Balad UNESCO, and King Abdulaziz Road). Dhahran is here too, with the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture / Ithra, host of the long-running Saudi Film Festival. So are Abha, the Asir highlands, and the wider Eastern Province. AlUla shoots fall under the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) and Film AlUla. It has been the most film-active heritage district in the country since the 2019 opening. Basecamps sit at Habitas, Banyan Tree, Shaden Resort, Cloud7 Residence, and the Maraya area. Sites here have Hegra (Nabataean tombs, UNESCO 2008), Madain Salih, Elephant Rock, Dadan, Ikmah, and the AlUla Old Town. NEOM shoots work inside the special economic zone under the NEOM authority. Daily access runs through NEOM Bay Airport and Bajdah Studios. That is the largest sound stage complex in MENA, at 9,000 m² across four stages. We set up Riyadh closures through the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC).

Each day, our location managers in the Kingdom plan around the rhythms of each site. Saudi Arabia has its own cultural beats too. Five daily prayer holds (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha) shape when units move. Friday Jummah from 12:00-13:30 is a hard close. It shuts all public sites and most private ones. The workweek runs Sunday to Thursday. So logistics services and permit offices keep a different rhythm than European or US suppliers. Ramadan flips whole schedules to night shifts, with iftar and suhoor breaks. Summer (June-September) hits 45-50°C across AlUla, the Empty Quarter (Rub' al Khali), and Jeddah. This pushes shoots toward October-April. Sandstorm (haboob) season runs March-May and needs shoot-stop protocols. Edge of the World (Jebel Fihrayn) and Empty Quarter shoots sit 90+ minute drives from Riyadh basecamps. They need full 4x4 unit moves and Saudi Geological Survey planning. Red Sea and Farasan Islands marine work sets up with the Saudi Coast Guard. We brief crews on three things. First, modest dress. Second, no-on-screen-alcohol rules for domestic distribution. Third, the Two Holy Mosques no-go for non-Muslim access.
