Professional on-site coordination and location supervision across Saudi Arabia.

Scroll

Here is how this works in practice. Location management in Saudi Arabia covers scouting, securing, preparing, and managing filming locations across a production. Location managers set up access, permits, parking, power, crowd control, and restoration at sites including AlUla's Hegra tombs, Riyadh's Edge of the World, and Jeddah's historic Al-Balad, making sure each location is ready for filming and returned to its original condition afterward.

Here is the short of it. We give full location management services that handle each aspect of your filming locations across Saudi Arabia. Our team scouts potential sites, negotiates access, manages logistics on shooting days — including extreme desert heat management and evolving filming infrastructure in newly opened regions — and oversees location restoration, allowing your creative team to focus fully on production.

On Location

Location management on the ground in Saudi Arabia coordinates daily access to AlUla / Hegra / Madain Salih, NEOM Bajdah Studios, Riyadh CBD with Kingdom Centre and Al Faisaliah, Jeddah Al-Balad UNESCO, Diriyah, Edge of the World, and Empty Quarter dunes under separate RCU, NEOM, RCRC, and Saudi Film Commission jurisdictions

Here is how this works in practice. Our location managers run daily operations across three jurisdictional zones. Mainland Saudi shoots under the Saudi Film Commission cover the major cities. Riyadh sites have Kingdom Centre Tower, Al Faisaliah, the King Abdullah Financial District, and Diriyah's Al-Turaif UNESCO district. Jeddah sites have the Corniche, Historic Jeddah Al-Balad (UNESCO), and King Abdulaziz Road.

Other regions round out the mainland coverage. Dhahran hosts the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), home to the long-running Saudi Film Festival. Abha and the Asir highlands, plus the wider Eastern Province, also see regular shoots.

Here is the short of it. AlUla shoots have been the most film-active heritage zone since the 2019 opening. They run under the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) and Film AlUla. Basecamps have Habitas, Banyan Tree, Shaden Resort, Cloud7 Residence, and the Maraya area. Locations have Hegra (Nabataean tombs, UNESCO 2008), Madain Salih, Elephant Rock, Dadan, Ikmah, and the AlUla Old Town.

NEOM shoots work inside the special economic zone under the NEOM authority. Daily access runs through NEOM Bay Airport and Bajdah Studios (the largest sound stage tricky in MENA at 9,000 m² across four stages). Riyadh closures set up through the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC).

Day-to-day location managers plan around Saudi's unique cultural rhythms. Five daily prayer holds (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha) shape unit-move timing. Friday Jummah 12:00-13:30 is a hard close across all public locations and most private ones.

Here is the breakdown. The Sunday-Thursday workweek means local services and permit offices run on a different rhythm than European or US suppliers. Ramadan flips entire schedules to night shifts, with iftar and suhoor breaks. Summer (June-September) at 45-50°C across AlUla, the Empty Quarter, and Jeddah pushes shoots toward the October-April window. Sandstorm (haboob) season in March-May needs shoot-stop protocols.

Remote locations have their own logistics. Edge of the World (Jebel Fihrayn) and Empty Quarter shoots run 90+ minute drives from Riyadh basecamps. They need full 4x4 unit moves and Saudi Geological Survey planning. Red Sea and Farasan Islands marine work sets up with the Saudi Coast Guard.

We brief crews on the cultural baseline. Modest dress expectations apply. No on-screen alcohol is allowed for domestic distribution. The Two Holy Mosques are a no-go for non-Muslim access.
