Here is how this works in practice. Power setup is the Saudi-specific working detail. Domestic and NEOM grid (Acwa Power independent infrastructure) both run 220V/60Hz. That is distinct from the 50Hz standard most global ballasts ship configured for. So we either source 60Hz-compatible ballasts through MBC's electrics, or specify ARRI EB MAX 18K auto-switching units on each booking.
Power infrastructure also routes through several operators. Aggreko Saudi, Cummins, and Caterpillar dealer networks cover portable power packs needs. SEC (Saudi Electricity Company) tie-in permits handle building feed-ins.
Here is the short of it. Several major shoots have used hybrid Saudi-Dubai lighting stacks. Examples have Kandahar at NEOM, Desert Warrior across AlUla, Cherry's Apple TV+ unit, the Telfaz11 commercial pipeline, and the Wadjda-Sattar-Born a King narrative custom. AlUla canyon and Empty Quarter exteriors mostly outstrip MBC's domestic inventory on a single shoot week.
